Young people welcomed the symbolic Ark of the New Covenant during the 2006 Youth Summit. Their mission was to accompany the Ark and attract and unite people of all generations around Jesus Christ.
Pope Benedict XVI blessed the Ark of the New Covenant on May 11, 2006, during the ad limina visit to Rome, in the presence of the Quebec bishops. The Catholic Church of Quebec named four persons to attend this unique and wonderful event. Once back on Canadian soil, the Ark of the New Covenant began its cross-country pilgrimage.
