2008 IEC official adoration sites

A brief history

The official adoration sites are the fruit of the desire to promote Eucharistic adoration and make it accessible to as many people as possible. As the Pontifical Committee for the International Eucharistic Congresses has put it, “There should be an opportunity for common prayers and extended adoration in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament exposed at designated churches which are especially suited to this form of piety.”

The official sites

Eight official locations have been designated as Eucharistic adoration sites during the 2008 IEC:

A number of existing adoration chapels will also be available.

Schedule

The chapels will be open from 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 15, until 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21. Certain ones will be open 24/7; others, only a few hours per day.

Adoration procedure

Group or individual participation

It is possible for groups or individuals to participate in ongoing adoration (download the Registration Form) or to lead Eucharistic adoration at the various official adoration sites (download the Registration Form).
