Ms. Elizabeth Nguyen Thi Thu Hong
Homemaker

Elizabeth Nguyen Thi Thu Hong is originally from Vietnam and is the youngest sister of the late Cardinal François-Xavier Nguyen Van Thuan, who died on September 16, 2002, and whose beatification process was opened in April, 2007, by the secretary of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, Mgr Giampaolo Crepaldi.

A wife and mother of three children, Ms. Elizabeth Nguyen lives in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, where she taught for the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board for 24 years. Currently, she is working with the Lua Viet youth group, under the direction of Father Paul Nguyen Hoai Chuong, on construction of a website for the Cardinal François-Xavier Nguyen Van Thuan Foundation. She has also been translating, into both English and French, her brother’s writings on the Marian Movement and the letters he wrote to his family during his 13 years of imprisonment. These letters are an eloquent testimony to the faith that inspired the Cardinal’s life.
