Public transit: a choice for the life of the world

In keeping with the event theme, “The Eucharist, gift of God for the life of the world,” organizers of the 49th International Eucharistic Congress are encouraging the use of public transit for getting to and from event sites.

Arrangements have been made with Quebec City area public transit networks Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC) and Société de transport de Lévis to provide Congress participants with efficient service from June 15 to 22. Organizers have also arranged with Société des traversiers to give Congress pilgrims easy access to the ferry between Quebec City and Lévis.

Residents of Quebec City and surrounding area are invited to travel by public transit to the Eucharistic City (ExpoCité)as well as events like the Eucharistic procession on Thursday, June 19 and closing ceremonies on the Plains of Abraham on June 22. Routes and schedules are available on transit company websites (www.rtcquebec.ca, www.stlevis.ca and www.traversiers.gouv.qc.ca) or by calling 418-627-2511 for RTC, 418-837-2401 for Société de transport de Lévis and 1-877-787-7483 for the Quebec City–Lévis ferry.

In keeping with the event’s environmental mission, full arrangements have been made to facilitate access to the Eucharistic City (ExpoCité) by public transit. However, parking will be available nearby for those who come by car.
